it was a nice day so i decided to bike to work today

apparently i ran a stop sign sign which is strange because i was on the sidewalk at the time. they pulled me over at a bridge , i was real tempted to pull one of these off

back to the story had one of my Security Forces buddies not been in the car with him i would have got a ticket for running a stop sign and not wearing my reflective belt "because i was a smart a@@" but i got off with a verbal warning

for all you guys that don't know what the Security Forces are

I don't want to sound like i'm bashing Military Police because they are a nice bunch of guys , drove me and my groceries back to the dorms when my car broke down, drove us home after countless bar runs and missing CAC cards , but it was soo funny i had to post it on GT:rofl:

MPs and Shore Patrol suck. They always tried to mess with my ability to take care of my COs needs. A guy steals a couple of M-151s and a 6-BY and they won't leave you alone. Give em hell!

I got pulled over one time by DHS cops driving through NIH in Bethesda. They asked 'do you know why I pulled you over?' Honest to God, I said "because you have nothing better to do?"

I got a ticket. Expired tags.

Like most jobs it has its good/bad folks. When you are doing 15mph and they are pacing you (after racing up to then match speed) you do have to wonder.

I had a trailer broken into that was in storage by RV park. The attitude was "we don't care, we swing thru there every week or so, leave" Then I mention I noticed a number of other trailers broken into/campers INCLUDING a very senior person involved with SPs. It went from "we won't come to even look/come to use (if you want) and fill out a report" To "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING, leave it to us"...

lol I think I only actually pulled over 1 person during my time as an MP. The tickets in Germany were pretty much meaningless so I found it much more entertaining to race up on the person like I was about to but instead just follow them wherever they went and then just drive on by.

While I share your despising of MP's and SP's, it sounds like you're another typical bicyclist who thinks the rules of the road don't apply to you, then you whine when you get called on it. He should have given you the ticket.

But how does that affect him getting a ticket if he was on the sidewalk.

This was a what? just a 3 way intersection?

So maybe next time don't blow through stop signs, wear reflective gear if you're supposed to, and dial down the smart ***. Problem(s) solved.

He couldn't have both stayed on the sidewalk and run the stop sign. If he ran the stop sign, he had to venture into the street.

    Love stories like this.

During the first Gulf War I was in what I best remember was the Khafji Port operations. Bunch of Marines and Navy types there. Anywho during my runnings around in port I got pulled over by a very young Marine MP. Seems I was clocked at doing 60 in a 25. :whistling:

Knowing the slim chance of that ticket ever finding me out in the desert I appeared to be contrite and hoped to be on my way pronto. Unfortunately I also had a young SSG with me who started getting mouthy with the Marine. :faint:

We "almost" went to the brigg. Thank god for some extra smooth talking on my part or we just might have.

Stop signs mean stop. Just because your acting like your five years old and riding on the sidewalk does not exempt you.

"Why were you driving so fast?"

"Because I didn't see you there with the radar gun."
