I had built this computer and then couldn't get XP Pro SP2 to load onto the SATA hard drive.

I took it into a shop, and after a week, I called them asking how it was going.

    They had lost my computer.
Oh it was still in the shop, they just didn't know where.
I said if you cant find it, I'll gladly take another off the shelf that matches the specs.
They called later that day, after having found the computer in the "back room" with other computers waiting for pickup from customers. They wanted to know what it was again I wanted done to it.

I said I would take it home as is.

I downloaded the newest SATA drivers.

Bingo... OS loaded first try. I even managed to set up my dual SATA drives as a RAID 0.

I love being able to do these things. :)

Glad to hear you got it up and going!

Too it took a week in the "back room" to get it done. Hope they did not charge you rent!

    ^c Outstanding!! ^c

Now avoid that shop at all costs. And tell all your friends about them!

That sort of thing is unforgivable in my book--there are techs out there who will charge less and do a better job.

They'll also fix people's machine in the order they come in. Shame other shops can't grasp that concept!!;Q ;g ;Q
