My old Sportster4 was needing to be replaced. Presets 1-6 didn't work, and neither did the arrows to scroll side to side through channel categories.

    Off to eBay I went.

Ended up getting a Sportster5 (which I figured had all the wiring, but didn't; not a big deal because all my old stuff worked).

I plugged everything up before even calling Sirius to activate the radio just so I could confirm that all the buttons functioned and it powered up.

To my surprise -- FULL TUNAGE!!!

So, I wonder if the previous owner may have done a lifetime subscription, or what? Who knows, but I hope that's the case as my subscription is set to expire in January.

I like free stuff, and I only paid $32 for the radio that retails for $150.

Sirius requires a deactivation signal to stop service. If the previous owner unplugged the receiver before the unit deactivated it will work. It may work for a few weeks, few months or forever. I had one last a year before getting deactivated.
