What a nice bike! As some of you may know, I started out on a V-Star 650. Lately I've been wanting to find something standard/naked. This 919 was a great deal. I saw it probably only minutes after it was posted on CycleTrader.com, and ended up driving 2 hours each way to grab this thing the next morning before someone else would.

I still feel comfier leaning the cruiser further than the 919, just because it feels safer. I need to get used to the sportier handling with it's 10" taller seat height. Other than that, it feels very natural to ride. Here are some preliminary pics, before I get to working on it.

    HOTTT!!!

That's one of my all time favs. That was originally one of the first bikes I saw that had undertail exhaust.

EDIT: Rumor is that they do good wheelies.

    Sweet.

I almost missed the little fly screen on it.

re: the wheelies. Yes, yes they do great wheelies. In fact the whole 900RR line (where the 919 got it's engine) was quite well known for that fact. I hear the 919 is no different in that regard.

I'm bored so it's time to post a little update... I finally got new pics. I had slowly been making tiny (non-performance) modifications to the bike. I think it looks better now.

Got rid of the chandelier hanging off the rear fender. I integrated the rear turn signals into the LED brake lights with a couple of relays. Added the mini turn signals up front (I may add relays to those as well to make them running lights/turn sigs). I cleaned up the header, removed the rear grab rail, removed the windscreen, just little things.

What'd you use on the exhaust to shine it up so well?

Looks great, and I've been contemplating what type of polish to use on my '06 919.

I'm surprised at the difference it made.

I still would like to get a bar-end mirror, but at $60 a piece I'd rather keep what I have. I may remove the swingarm label as well.

Call me crazy but I think that it would be hot to get Kermit the Frog doll and tie it to the rear seat somehow.

    I prefer the grab rail.
It keeps the female rider on the back end, catches the arse as she is sliding off.
    Just my 2 cents though.

One of the guys I ride with has one and I have to say other than no wind protection at all it's a comfy ride! He got his for a steal used with 1000mi on it and couldn't be happier.

Color reminds me of my ZRX1200R (sold). Great bike!
