I have a Winchester safe. It has the digi-lock. I have always been a fan...until now.

I opened it earlier (since the move) and opened it several times. It gave me a few low battery beeps earlier today.

I tried changing the battery, and nothing.

The light will flash once every 10 or so seconds, and it make an "odd", slight noise, but it will not beep when I push ANY key.

I'm leaving the battery out for a little bit to see if I'll have any success.

Does ANYONE have any USEFUL information?

Luckilly, there are no guns in there...but there are docs/jewelry/watches/pictures.

I followed the instructions here; mine is the bottom one -- KABA MAS (LG): http://winchestersafes.com/docs/battery-replacement-manual.pdf

I was told to pay the $50 for the 9 year electric lock warranty... for good measure.

    Good news!!!

    It is opened!

I left the battery in for a few minutes, left it alone, and then went back out.

    It now works again!!!

    WOO HOO!!!

I have a safe that has had similar problems. Not a Winchester, but hell it's probably made by the same company. The keypads kept draining the battery.

Now I just use the key, which is a pain. But oh well. :(

Dang! I though you are going to need to use some dynamite! Now that would be fun!

going from memory, you and I have the same safe. when i had that issue, I contacted the CO. in Dallas, they sent me new keypad, only question asked was which brand of pad was on the safe, they use 2 different ones.
I would recommend doing the above just to have a spare. also, offer to pay to overnight it to you, they shipped my regular mail, took a week to arrive.
