Hi Glock folks! I bought a “new” G19 Gen 4 1 of 1000 Navy Seal Foundation from a gun show. It’s beautiful and I love it, but I now do not think it was new gun. It came with the box, 3 mags, extra back straps and all the paperwork sealed in the envelope. The gun had a zip tie thru the barrel locking the slide open that could not be removed until leaving the gun show. I noticed that the gun looked to have a lot of oil on it, more than I ever noticed on my other new Glock’s. But when I got the gun Home and broke it down, there was none of the copper lube. I felt then that it was not a new gun. As I cleaned the new gun, I found some engraving on the barrel. 2 letters and one number. It looks like someone engraved it at home. I registered the gun with Glock without a problem. BUT is this a new gun I purchased or a used gun?

Nope, I don’t think so. I originally thought it had to be used because of the price, but then I was told it was new. I paid $479. But I am a little old lady and probably look like I don’t know squat about guns or their value. Personally I think I know just slightly more than that.....probably not a whole lot more. But, I am learning as fast as I can!

Well, someone "tampered" with it since there is no copper paste.
The engraving sounds weird. Going to need a pic of that.

It's still possible that it is unfired.
Are there slide marks on the barrel or does the outside of the barrel look new?
Some shooting will mark the barrel a certain way from interacting with the slide.

I think somehow this is a double thread. The other one has pictures. Nice gun.

Edit: now this one has pics too.

I’m pretty certain that the gun had never been shot, until the day after I got it! I know a lot of people don’t shoot these guns, but I got it for a carry gun and to enjoy shooting.
