Somebody damn well better comment on the judiciary. The worst problem is the judiciary is filled with lawyers with no referees.

Blumenthal said Gorsuch said... What Gorsuch actually said might be different. We all know Sid Rambo Blumenthal has his own, anti-Trump, Dolt-Left agenda.

All know Blumenthal is a documented liar. But did the blind chicken finally get a kernel of corn?
Scratch the surface of Gorsuch...underneath is there a Roberts there? Little worried here.

"Ron Bonjean, a spokesman aiding Gorsuch in the confirmation process, confirmed Blumenthal’s account of their conversation in an e-mail and said Gorsuch "used the words disheartening and demoralizing."

The Judiciary is supposed to be independent. He has a track record, which of course doesn't predict the future, but he seems to be a good pick. It will get interesting if there's a center or left vacancy to get filled.

    What choice did Gorsuch have?

We all know the 9th circuit is a progressive court, that's not the point. A sitting president should not attack judges.

No judge or lawyer in their right mind would say anything different

He said those words but his statement was mischaracterized by Blumenthal. Standard political tactic.

So what, exactly, did Gorsuch mean?

Obama chastised the Supreme Court in his 2010 State of the Union blather. I don't recall many raising this objection at that point.

Me personally, I'll just let Gorsuch speak for himself. If he comes out and says that he was misrepresented, sure I'll believe it. Barring that, there is absolutely no evidence that he was misrepresented.

I seriously doubt that Gorsuch thinks a public attack on a federal judge coming from the executive branch is a good idea

I certainly did! Though I was not a member at the time. It was absolutely ridiculous, really even worse than what Trump did, because Barrack did it at a significant public event, and it was an attack on not just a federal judge but several Supreme Court justices he was attacking, with the judges sitting right in front of him. It was literally unprecedented, what he did. Trumps comments are not really unprecedented, quite a few presidents have attacked judges. That doesn't make it right.

Thanks for bringing that up actually I had forgotten, but I don't think it applies to me.

It means he was traumatized watching Cronkite reports on black and white TV.

    Gorsuch said the right things.

However, the judicial branch is co-equal to the other branches, not above them. Judges and the judicial branch like to parade around with their noses up even higher than most Senators. They like to pretend they are above the common political fray. GMAB. Most judges make decisions based on politics, especially the liberal and activist ones. Don't tell me Sotamayor and Kagan were put in because they follow the law. They're Obama and the left's puppets.

Oh, and I'm sorry but being a lawyer ain't hard. If it were it wouldn't be the default plan of action for college kids with a little bit of motivation but no plan. Being a good lawyer is hard but that's why they are less common. Judges need to get off their horses.

How smooth would Trumps presidency have gone thus far without his twitter rants and the inevitable distractions that follow? Spicer, Conway, etc., spend as much time dealing with this crap as with substantive matters. He's feeding the frenzy and, no, it's not part of some master plan, just a lack of discipline. Now Gorsuch gets to come under fire before the Senate Dems for properly addressing another goofball tweet. I've given up on Conway as possibly being the one who could have a "speak freely" conversation with this president, given she's hawking Ivanka's line of merchandise now. Maybe Preibus....

The press is certainly at fault here but no surprise that 15 minutes into the press conference happening now at least 90% of the questions Spicer is answering stem from silly tweets about the judiciary, Ivanka's line of merchandise being dropped, etc. Just now getting to something substantive like tax reform.
