I know theres awesome movies out here that dont get exposure.

Recently watched the raid:redemption, like the most badass action movie of all time, and watched 9th company, an excellent war film. What else is there out there?

Not a war movie, but set in WW1: Deathwatch.

    That movie was pretty badass.

The Gunny was the best part in the whole movie.

For good obscure action movies, it's pretty hard to beat a lot of the Hong Kong action/gangster movies. A good example is Kill Zone starring Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung. Of course, everybody dies at the end.

    Very intense flick.

That was an interesting flick. Those bunch of dudes also made a bunch of other movies about Algerians living in france and became mobsters.

I'm going to have to find this one.

Spartan with Val Kilmer wasn't bad. Kilmer plays a member of a Military unit based along the lines of Delta Force (Eric Haney was involved in the production).

It has similarities (writing, dialog) to The Unit (David Mamet directed both), but is darker and grittier.

It was reccomended to me by some special operations vets.

One called Fireball Forward, killed by its own name. Fireballl Forward was a radio call sign and a pretty good movie.

One call The Bridge, about a bunch of teen aged Hitler Youth soldiers resisting the American advance ot a bridge.

The Front Line is another good Korean War movie. Not as good as Tae Guk Gi but damn good.

Blessed by Fire is an Argentinian movie on the Falklands War that I enjoyed.

Lebanon is an Israeli war movie about the Lebanon conflict from a tanker's view.

Waltz with Bashir is also another excellent Israeli war movie - except that it's a cartoon.

55 Days in Peking.. about the boxer rebellion. Skip by the stupid love story.

Lost Battalion with Rick Shroeder. WWI

    Pork Chop Hill Korean War.

Not a war, per se, but Raid: Redemption is totally awesome.

Battleground. Best "classic" WWII flick ever, but not terribly obscure (now available on Netflix instant watch).

And not a war or action movie (quite so much) is "Ahh! Zombies!". It's a zombie movie told from the perspective of the zombies. Infected by a military "supersoldier" drug, they become unkillable but also move in ultra-slow motion. To each other, they seem normal, and to them the rest of the world is "infected" by something that makes them move really fast. But to the rest of the world, the zombies are the slow, foot-dragging groaning type you'd expect. (They're not really groaning unintelligibly, they're just talking really slow, like a record or cassette tape that's dragging). Funny flick, with a few zombie-movie action sequences.

Waterloo, Zulu Dawn, King and Country, Breaker Morant, British flicks but very entertaining. Yeah, I like the older wars and conflicts . . .

    Russian Film: Brest Fortress

Watch it in Russian, with subtitles. Don't watch the English-dubbed version.

Ditto Downfall. Excellent German movie with the best portrayal of Hitler I have ever seen. Watch it subtitled though, do not bother with the crappy dubbed version.
