I had failures to feed with wwb 165 month ago, trying that grain for the first time. Before it was 180 flawlessly. Well I thought it was the ammo. So today I rapid fired 2 mags of 165 gold dot, and 155 ranger. It ran like a champ. So thanks for all the taught and ideas, im a happy man. Now I have to pick what to stock it with, I like 155, 165, and 180.
I have 165 and 180 gold dot. 180 hst. 155 ranger choices choices lol

Like what bullet weight to use. The 180gr penetrates better, while the 155gr expands better. Decisions, decisions.

if you do a little research you will find quite a bit of difference in ammo performance between your choices, although all are top performers. my research has shown the 165grn GD to be the best penetrating hollowpoint, the 180grn HST the best expanding [good winter load]. I carry 165grn HST and GD in my 23 and 180grn HST and GD in my 27. the 165grn GD #53970 is a pretty hot load. HSTs are my winter carry load.

Sorry that you've had problems with yours. Mine has been flawless with every type of ammunition but is scary accurate with 165gr HP's and FMJ's. I wish that were the case with 180gr bullets, but perhaps it is just me. Enjoy.

Federal 180 gr. HST (or Win. Ranger-T)... and call it a day.

180 gr. has less flip, flash, and is subsonic. The HST really opens up well and still penetrates.

This stuff has been 100% reliable in both Gen2/4 G23's... and it comes in 50 round boxes.
