I was just walking a dog in the heart of Potomac and a big jet flew over really low with like 5 f 18's flying a tight escort. It felt like 9/11. :faint:

A few mins later, my son texted me from Rockville saying he saw it too, and was anything on the news ( its not). *he* thought it was awesome! Of course, he was only 5 that day and loves planes.

It was different than when AF1 flys over, much lower, only one big plane, and the fighters are not typically on their freaking WINGS!!

I'm assuming nothing on the news means some sort of dignitary. Yeesh.

I've seen them fly in formation for sporting events (Bengals game). Probably wrong time of day for something like that though.

I've seen the POTUS fly over MANY times, never looked like this. Sam said they counted EIGHT f18's (there were two behind, I did see them but I guess I forgot in the excitement, i'm a terrible witness). Still nothing on the news, which is kind of...odd. Perhaps there is a perceived threat with all the uprisings? (Sam's thought, makes sense to me).

That's just what they want you to think!

    :tinfoil:

I remember being denied entrance to Ellington Field here in Houston once (I was still a reservist at the time) because the crown prince of Saudi Arabia had flown in to meet with Bush. I don't recall any fighter escort though.

a ha!!! Someone on Reddit said he was at Arlington and it was a flyover for a Navy Pilot funeral, and that the larger plane was the plane he flew. Which...is not at ALL tinfoily, but WHY ON EARTH ISN'T IT IN THE NEWS???!!! I mean, seriously, in this area, what do they think people are gonna think?? :miff:

Also, this isn't confirmed, but I'd like to believe it's what it was.

They were talking about the Metrobus driver right AFTER the planes flew over! ( I had parked for a lunch break and was trying to find info). What'd they say? There was nothing even archived on their site.
