I am wondering what every one uses for the target/firing range for ammo. I was using Federal's today bought at wally world...but wondering if there are better choices?

Winchester WWB works fine, but is a bit dirty.

Federal has always worked great for me. I really havent found a ball ammo any of my 1911's didnt like, HP's are a different story though.

I primarily shoot reloads that i make through our shop. It is very cost beneficial because i can load 1000 rounds of 230 ball for $93. That price can be deducted even more when doing my lead loads for the competition season

I buy the majority of range ammo from Wally World. I use WWB, UMC and Federal. WWB is a little dirtier than the other two, but they all work just fine.

I don't shoot factory ammo much anymore since I started reloading, but when I did, Blazer brass was my favorite. I think the Federal at WM performs about the same. Stick with a name brand and you should be fine.

Wow, you must get great deals on components. I haven't seen bullets that cheap in years, let alone primers and powder figured in.

I think 1000 rounds costs me around $150; Zero FMJ bullets around $120, $30 for primers, and powder.

I use handloaded 200gr LSWCs. They are more consistent than factory ammunition and much cheaper to boot.

I use the Remington UMC from walmart and always try to buy the 250 bulk pack when I can. It's a little more expensive than the WWB and the Federal (maybe $5 more per 250 rounds), but it works well in my G30 and that's enough to justify the few extra bucks for me.

I've been running Speer Lawman lately with very good results.... quite a bit cleaner and more consistent than the WWB I had been using.... not to mention $5 cheaper per box....

PMC Bronze is pretty cheap, clean enough and always goes bang. It doesn't cost as much as other brands online for the most part.

Federal, Winchester, and Remington all work great for me. I even had some Blazer aluminum cased stuff in 9 and .45 and it was flawless.
