Well I started shooting IDPA a couple years ago, but now I'm going to give USPSA a try. There is a local club here that holds a USPSA match once a month oposite of my IDPA match, so why not. Just need to pick up some extra mag pouches before the end of March. I'll be running my Glock 34 that I use in IDPA. Just another excuse to reload and shoot more bullets...lol

You will have a blast. I shoot IDPA, USPSA, bowling pin matches and bulls eye matches. The USPSA matches are the most fun although I generally don't do very well.

The Glock 34 is very popular in Production...enjoy, loads of fun to be had!

i shot a couple IDPA matches and then a USPSA match.
to me USPSA is MUCH more fun. not as many silly rules as to how to engage the stage.
    much faster.
more of a game for sure.
you'll love it and you'll do well, being an IDPA shooter.

here is a vid of a couple stages of my last USPSA match a few days ago. im the tall guy that goes first.

A glock 34 would be most competitive in production division. The more shooting the better. I shoot USPSA, IDPA, and 3-Gun each month. USPSA production will give you a lot more practice reloading at least at the matches I shoot since a big stage of 36+ rounds is common. When I shoot production I usually load from slide lock but it is more competitive to load before you go to slide lock in USPSA.

USPSA Production has a 10rd in the mag rule after the buzzer.

Correct. All of production scores minor so 9mm does not hurt your scoring against other production shooters. If you take minor into limited against .40s and .38 Super that score major you will be at a disadvantage.

I'll be shooting production...my wife would kill me right now if I built an open gun, or even a limited rig. We have our 2nd child on the way, and I'm better off spending my extra cash on reloading supplies rather than toys at this point in time. I am lucky that she doesn't mind me shooting 2 matches a month and a couple days of practice. This could change after the new baby, but I am taking advantage of it while I can...lol

Looks real fun... I gotta get to one of these matches and check it out. I think I would be mainly into shooting production. There is alot of guys here that know their USPSA stuff really good I barely understand the scoring myself... lol

i've shoot USPSA for years now and still don't understand the scoring. it really amounts to points per second, but that's as far into it as i care to get.

Do you know the Best Buy in Tucson that was another store converted into a bestbuy around early 2009?

Also they built another bestbuy not even too far from the converted one in that MEGA gigantic shopping plaza that caused havic for the main road while being built?

yeah, i was going to shoot that but i have only shot 2 idpa matches and a few USPSA matches. dont really think im "ready" for a state match with all that scrutiny.

i will probably come watch a bit.
