    Howdy yall.
I've only been home from Iraq for about 4 months now and I'm headin back over, this time to the 'Stan'. Just when I started to get settled and back in the rythem of CONUS life LOL. This deployment is totaly voluntary though. One of our deploying sister units (I'm Reserves) is lacking door gunners so I rose my hand. Unfortunatly it means delaying my spot at the fire academy I am scheduled to begin next month, but it's okay. They'll still be there when I get back.

I'm hoping somebody here has been to both countries. I'd like to hear some comparisons of the two. I'm not sure of exactly where in the Stan I'll be (even if I did I wouldnt say.....OPSEC) but I know terrain is much rougher there, more mountainous and that some parts get snow. That's about all I've heard about it. I'd like to know more about how the weather compares, how the local culture differs, how our bases compare, ect. Any comparisons will be very helpfull.

    Thanks yall!

Never been to Afgan Land, but being a door gunner would be fun.
