i know they're both 9 mils but i was thinking alonf the lines of softening recoil.

Get your grip lined up; it'll do more than a shock buff and won't cause your gun to short stroke.

I have over 100,000 rounds through a G17, I have found no use for a shock buff and the gun is still running fine (a couple of guide rod springs later) LOL.

best advice was just given--spend the $$ on ammo and shoot the Hell out of it.
