I have wondered why Glock won't make their POST ban magazines look just like they did with the PRE ban magazines. Some of the Glock folks are under stupid, local governmental laws that do not allow them to have the full capacity of their Glock magazines. They're still restricted to 10, maybe less. I can't see any reason Glock can't continue to make and sell magazines that look identical to the Pre ban mags. Glock was making the current FML (Full-Metal-Lined) magazine before the ban. If not Glock, maybe the Korean outfit that's making them now. It's a shame these people have to find old, used magazines and pay a ridiculous price, if they can even find PRE ban mags. Glock could even just leave their name off the magazine, they don't need the advertising and it would be sort of hard to prove who even made them. Just still wondering.

If they did that then those people in the bad states wouldn't be able to have the new or old hi cap mags because they would look the same.

Are the dangerous cities in red or black?

And how does this relate to 10 round only or hicap magazines?

Actually, in NY the burden is on the prosecution to prove the date of mfg. If there was not way to tell the difference, I don't know how they would carry this burden. However, it would still not be legal for someone who knew it was not a true pre-ban to sell it in NY.

No they look different. Look closely at the caliber designation on the back of the mags. On pre ban they are lower below the taper at the top. Post ban has the number higher up.

Wasn't manufactures required by law to put a date of manufacture for any mags made after the 1994 ?

Otherwise, how can they enforce the ban vs pre-ban ?

Yes they were, BUT that was only for the duration of the ban. When the 10 round limit went sunset the requirement to date them also went sunset (away IOW).

Go get caught in one of those municipalities, where they are limited to 10 rounds and then report back exactly how they did "it". Let us know if it's possible to be convicted of a crime.

That's just great. So, we have manufacture producing mags that won't have clear labels until they reinstate the ban...

gun control laws are just so well thought out.

What would be in it for the manufacturers? If they just produced them and put them out in the market place people would not pay a premium for them. If they marketed them as counterfeit pre ban mags then they might be able to get a premium, but they could also end up in jail.

The exact same thing that's in it for them now. They manufacture gun magazines to sell and make a profit on each one. That's their incentive.

Just forget I ever mentioned anything to do with gun magazines. I didn't know what this was going to turn into. It aint worth the effort.

    DannyR had the right idea.
