Kumusta to all BOG's. Im new to the hobby, but been lurking at BOG threads very often. Great place to visit.
Just bought my G19 a month ago, also because of inputs I got from this forum. Now planning to get a G30.
I would appreciate your opinion and feedback on G30 and it's performance. Hope I could meet and join as many members of the Band to learn more about the hobby.
Im from Cavite, just moved in from Pangasinan few months ago.
    Thanks a lot.

Hey it's a glock. what do you expect? they are all reliable and great shooters. it's just that the G30 is quite bulky. Welcome.

    Hey welcome to the forum!
G30 is a great pistol, I have shot one before and I shoot it even better than my G19. I just don't like the grip.

Welcome sir "G"... why not consider a .40, Glock 22, or even the 24...

Thanks a lot for your valuable inputs, really appreciate it.
I did consider .40cal, but I feel like wanted to get used to the feel of .45 when I tested a 21. But 21 is just too big to conceal.

By the way, is there anyone using a teflon coated ammo on glock? Im trying to avoid lead and been sticking to fmj as suggested by many. But it is tough to shoot more fmj's because of the cost. Will a teflon coated ammo do fine on glocks?
    Thanks.
    :)

I think the G30 is an excellent pistol. It's an extremely accurate and controllable pistol. It helps if you have large hands. The fully loaded 10-round magazine will need to be slapped home forcefully to seat it properly. That's just about the only gripe about it.

I sold my G19 to get a G30 and I wasn't sorry. But the G19's grip feels more comfortable for me. It's just that I like the legendary power of the .45 in the Glock platform.

:) Thanks a lot. With all those good feedbacks, I just confirmed my order for G30. I will still keep my 19 though, the wife seems to like it.
    Really appreciate the inputs...:)

You're welcome. You have two great pistols over there. All you need now are steel sights and good ammo for the G30 and you're good to go.

Has anyone have any issue with the guide rod on the g30 not being seated on the lower notch of the barrel? Just noticed mine, maybe it was always like that. Whenever rack the slide then break it down the guide rod, is alwYs on the top notch of the barrel. Anyone else having the same issue. Is it normal? Thank you.

The G30, what a great gun. I have large hands so it fits me great. I love the fact that it is a great conceal carry pistol as being a sub-compact. Also, with a G21 magazine and a sleeve, the G30 turns into a compact pistol camber in that big beautiful strong 45 acp(hell yeah). Don't let me forgot to mention that the G30 is extremely accurate. Great self defense gun.

    Perfectly normal.
The lower notch holds the guide rod in the correct position for assembly of the slide to frame and the upper notch captures the guide rod when you remove the slide from the frame. The guide rod does not contact the notches during slide function.

Wow. This thread is six years old.

I've since sold my G30 then and went on to the 1911. Good as a gun the G30 is, there's always a nagging feeling of losing control of the gun while firing it, though it never happened. Again the only gripe I had with it was slapping and seating fully loaded mag in the gun. Solution was downgrade to 9 rounds instead of 10 and the mag seats in easily.
