Are there any countrys that allow you to own a glock 18? just curious
doubt it, but all i know is that i want one
I am not sure if there are countries that allow individual ownership of a model 18. There are countries that do allow citizens the access to purchase the select-fire switch that can be installed on a Glock pistol.
can't you get one in america if you are a class 3 ffl dealer.. thought you could?
Glock only sells G18 directly to PD's and Govt agencies... a few wind up in dealers hands when a PD trades them in... and even then they need a demo letter to get it transferaed...
Not exactly accurate. Glock will sell directly to a dealer if the dealer has a demo letter.
They would not sell one to me demo letter or not. Also they demoed one on my indoor range, they sold me glocks on there range program, but NO G-18. Thats my story.
That's rough Tom. One of the local shops I frequent has one on a demo letter. I've shot it at an open-house.
Perhaps your range owner is in the secret handshake club, I have never heard Glock sold one to a dealer, only direct to a dept. that does not mean your range owner does not have a factory Glock I am guessing if he would let you look at the paperwork that it transfered from a police dept. and not direct from Glock.
Hank, it is my understanding they did in the beginning, but later stopped it. A customer Say's he sees a dealer at the gun shows carrying one. I did not mean to imply NO dealer has one, I'm sure they do, how???????????. I was all fired up to make one, have since then decided not to. Any way I'm one of those that believe all things are possible, none the less they told me NO, I don't remember if we shook hands or not!!!!!!!!!!!
Old Two Buckets
I don't think there any secret handshakes and this transpired last year. I have not seen any paperwork and although we are friends, I dont feel entitled to see it, or ask.
He told me that he got a demo letter from a department in New Mexico and two or three months later he received the pistol. He mentioned the name of the department and chief, a person he had met at SHOT, but I dont recall them.
The pistol is authentic and appeared to be new. He disassembled the slide from frame for me (I was curious).
Hell the FSSG is all you need for any glock. This thing rocks!!!! Don't limit yourself to one gun/caliber. unbelievable how simple and small this is...such a kickass solution for full auto. Surprised there is not more talk about it. There are people that are selling these for a premium, and no not from the manufacturer directly
I am not doubting at all that he has a factory Glock, just where it came from.
No one talks about them because they are illegal to use.
You are presupposing certain things and not qualifying yourself. They are illegal to use for some...maybe yourself.
That being said, if you travel at all overseas (assuming you are from the US), you might find yourself able to use one. Even if you are in the US, you might be able to use one. I am sorry I cannot provide the information contradicting your reference to this, but I'll let you do your own research.
No one said anything about using one either. No one said anything about not using one either.
