Hi everyone,

I would need some advice with regards to the trigger. I tried a trigger today that has a similar setup like mine but is significantly better than mine. Mainly in the pull.

My setup.

Glockworx Trigger bar (only the trigger and the bar not the springs)
Wolf spring pack
3,5 pound connector
Lightning strike titanium fireing pin with lightning strike spring
Lightning strike titanium safety knob with lightning strike spring

I did not polish anything

His setup

Glockworkx Trigger incl Glockworx springs
Gloxkworkx safety knob with spring
Glock factory fireing pin with reduced spring

He said that he did not polish it either.

Dont know how many round his has with this setup mine maybe 1200.

The pre and overtravel is pretty much the same for both of us but his pull weight is way less than mine.

Any idea? Did I miss something or did I screw up somewhere or are the Glockworkx springs coming polished and the Wolf ones not?

What would you do with my setup to improve it?

Thanks a lot

Perhaps he does a better job keeping the connector oiled. Enter a competition together and see who shoots best. That's what counts. You cannot buy accuracy. I could care less of others have a lighter trigger than me. What counts is my score in competition.

By the way, I would never, ever consider carrying either of those two pistols. My life means far more to me.

You need to know exactly what # spring is in each gun. Not just the name of springs as they come in different weights. You May have installed a 4# trigger spring and gone in the wrong direction for a reduced trigger pull. Lighter is not always better. I recently tested the pull on a new trigger system in a Glock and it was 2# 6oz. and I put it back in the package ready for a competition shooter which I am not.

The spring rates are the difference.

My competition G34 now has stock internals... But I was previously using a setup similar to yours. Before that, I was running all-Glockworx, just like your buddy.

Wolff and Lightning-strike springs are 1 pound heavier in the striker, and lighter in the trigger spring. Combined, these result in a heavier trigger pull.

Install Glockworx springs, and you'll have a trigger pull just like his.

I agree and if this is the case and he follows your advise his trigger pull Should be reduced by approximately 14oz -16oz. but that varies slightly.

Wolff FP and trigger springs may, or may NOT, be heavier or lighter than factory standard - Depends on what you buy from Wolff and install.

Jim S. told you right. The GlockWorx FP spring is 4#'s as compared to a factory standard of 5#'s. Never tried one; but, from what I read, you will end up with a 2#, or so, Glock trigger. At the same time, the FP will, also, be hitting primers with considerably less force.

For several good reasons I wouldn't want to use this trigger on a carry gun. In fact I went in the other direction: Heavier 6# Wolff trigger and FP springs, LWD trigger stop, and 4.5# connector. Everything is polished to, literally, a mirror shine.

My overall trigger pulls consistently range from 4.9#'s to 5.2''#'s and seem to depend most on whether I'm using a 4.5# factory or an LWD connector. Besides, my main interest is in getting a crisp fast reset; and, the trigger setup I'm presently using does that. I'm sure I'd be very uncomfortable with any Glock that fired almost as quickly as pressure is applied to the trigger.

Dont tell me that :crying: Charlie does not send abroad (I am in Austria). Dont know why but lots of companies have stopped shipping abroad even some who did before and even if the stuff is not restricted in the US and also not in Austria. :dunno:

I am with you with regards to a carry gun. On the other hand nobody is carrying a gun anyway in Austria beside police of course,

Mine is an IPSC Open in 9 Major

Sorry about that...I had both trigger set ups and Charlies just blows away Glockworx's...no comparison...Basically Charlies "feels" like a Glock trigger but much lighter and smoother....So going back and forth between A Vanek trigger and a Glock OEM trigger is very easy when at the range(my carry gun is OEM Glock). It takes me a bit to get use to a 1911 trigger,, Jframe or a Sig trigger if I have been shooting my Glocks...Basically I thought the Glockworx felt nothing like a "Glock " and Vaneks was great for me....
I also have a KKM compensated Barrel with my Vanek for my G34 and it is a tack driver...maybe not like a 1911 but it does exceptional for me at 10-15 yards it is a bullseye gun!...I hit bowling pins at 50-75 yards and shoot 100 yards for fun...Mostly can keep the rounds on a paper plate...well a large paper plate at 100 yards..LOL

I guess you are right, but I am not the typical Glock guy so I dont mind if the trigger feel is different. I am just happy with my open Glock for several reasons. In fact the only thing I dont like is the trigger thats why I try to improve it.
