I read it years ago. He was an interesting guy. The history of Glocks designed and what influenced it is interesting as well.

Very well said. I've seen 1911 worship at several gun clubs.

One thing I always admired about Glock is once 1911-Nation saved the 10mm from extinction they believed in the round enough to bring it to the fore front in both self defense and hunting and its been growing ever since. Not just "staying" but "growing".

Every year theres new 10mm's coming out. My next banger will be one. Smith just came out with another 10mm wheelie, Ruger has a 1911 one for value minded shooters. My brother has both the 20 and the 29 and both are pretty easy shooters, and accurate, for plastic 10mms.

They deserve credit for helping save a really great round.

I have a 30, not real impressed. It has jammed and I don't like how it feels.

They are fine but nothing terribly special and certainly not "America's gun" in my book. That would clearly be the 1911.

The sights it comes with, are the only ones that did not change.

Great gun. The competition, however, has caught up, and in some cases surpassed it.

Could be, but I'd have to see it proven before I'd change.

I too mocked the plastic pistol when it first appeared.

First time I shot one I was surprised how accurate it was.

Years later when I carried one daily... for going on well over 20 years, I'm amazed how reliable the various Glocks I've carried have been.

That is one endearing quality to a gun carried for the gravest extreme.

Sent from my Jackboot using Copatalk

The first time I shot a 20, I shot the smallest group of my life.
Every 20 i have shot is a tack driver.
It caused me to park the 1911,s for daily carry.
I still have high end wheel guns and 1911,s but I have been carrying a 20 24/7 for many years now.

I have experienced the same thing. I can group my G20 better than any of my other handguns. I though it was just a fluke, but its the same every time I go to the range.
In fact, I think I may go again tomorrow.

    yupp,, Tackdrivers.
Same weight loaded as a empty 1911 and twice the capacity.
    What’s not to love?
Run stock springs and they are 100%,

    Why not? It’s the truth.

    The 1911 is America’s gun.
