Very nice job indeed. One of these days I plan on doing something similar to my 27 but not until I can get some kind of surface to practice on.

From what I've learned so far, a soldering iron is generally what's used.

To the OP, if you don't mind me asking, did you use some sort of extra fine tip when doing this? So many others I've seen look like Swiss cheese with much larger marks, the finish on yours looks much finer, almost like sandpaper as far as the texture.
