I would like to build a open uspsa race gun out of my G35(yes i know the .40 is a bad thing for open)

What would I need to do and replace!

I am looking at sending it to Custom Glock Racing getting a bunch of work like the 2.5 trigger.

    What you think!

You should be able to get aftermarket 9 comped barrel for your 35 and add whatever mount and dot you want. Shoot it in with 9 major to see how you do in competition. The 3.5 # connector that is in it should do fine with a total internal polish job that you can do yourself. Use good control on the primers while reloading and replace the striker spring with a 4 #. Good trigger. Note: 4# spring doesn't set off high primers.

Ok i am rather new to both glocks and USPSA does a g17 mag fit in a g22/35 lower? If I use the 9mm conversion for the 35 what could be done about a comp/porting?

Also i dont understand what you are saying about primers. Please explane!

I toyed with the idea also. There are better/easier platforms to start with. Mags were the only reason my 35 is still a limited gun. I would talk to CGR this is their specialty.

Start with your G35. Put it in the safe, it will make a fine limited or production gun. Next, order a compensated STI or SV in .38 super and go from there.

I second this. I made a 9mm open gun from a G17 with a cheap barrel/comp with an "on sale" Optima 2000 dot and got a cheap-slow open gun. For $750 I get lots of fun. For 3 to 5 times my $750 you get a real open gun. Are you fast and committed?
