I'm in the market for a new pocket gun and while I like the G26 it's just too big to be a pocket gun.
That being said the question I have is why hasn't Glock cashed in on the pocket pistol craze over the last couple years?
What would it take for Glock to make a small 6+1 pocket 9mm like the Diamondback DB9 (Which looks just like a Glock)??

It would take a market survey that indicates a nice profit if Glock would introduce such a product.
The new Beretta NANO (new), Sig P290 and Kimber SOLO already compete with others in the pricier end of the market, and there is a plethora of cheaper pocket-pistols (Ruger LC9 and down) that are available today at your LGS.
I have never carried a pocket pistol; don't care to. If I use a j-frame, it has a Barami HipGrip on it and it's carried on my belt. But that's just personal opinion and many here would disagree with me.
Glock seems to have their collective hands full at the present time, trying to deal with RSA's, ejectors and extractors for several popular models. And, guns that have pocket-pistol dimensions, AND ARE RELIABLE, are even more difficult to produce. I would guess that Glock should iron out those creases before they take on something brand new.

the gun would also have to be 100% made in the U.S.-the majority of glocks are still made in Austria and a small pocket 9 would not meet the import criteria set by the batfe. Glock is at max capacity filling large orders for pistols for various gov contacts for police use worldwide plus the continual demand from the American civilian market- At this point they have a full plate unless they significantly increase manufacturing capacity- which cost a lot of money (not that they don't have the cash) I'm betting they are sitting back feeling they have captured enough of the market to not see enough profit in producing a gun on an entirely new platform.

Have you looked at the KAHR PM9 or their new less expensive CM9.
Very Glock like, can carry 6+1 or 7+1, it is small, light and very easy to shoot.
I picked up a PM9 for the hot summer months instead of carrying my G26.
I have already put about 900 rds through it without any problems.
No, I am not giving up my 5 Glocks, but wanted something a little easier to carry in the pocket.

Because I suspect that they (the microgun category) are difficult to get right, ie. reliable with a broad range of ammunition. It's a narrow target to hit.

The Ruger LC9 is nice. With that said, I have no clue why they don't try to edge into that space.

I bought my wife an LC9 and she loves it. Thing is that I carry it more than she does lol. I have a couple of buddies who carry the Diamondback .380 (dubbed the pocket Glock by some) They seem satisfied with them. The S&W Bodyguard is another nice pocket pistol...

If you want an awesome (the best), pocket 9mm....Go with the Kahr PM9...It would only be better if it was a Glock!!!!!

The Walther PPS is nearly the same size as the LC9 and a hair bigger than the PM9. Width is very close to the LC9 and PM9 too. Comes with different mag capacities which make the grip size configurable. Accurate as heck too.

Eh, I think the size difference between the PPS and PM9 is pretty significant when it comes to pocket carry.

There's also about a 20% difference in weight too.

I have a PPS and will be picking up a CM9 soon to pocket carry. Have carried a buddy's PM9 in the pocket before, there's a real difference.

Sure the PPS is a little bigger, but not as much as people think. Its design makes it look considerably larger that other pocket 9's, but its really not that much bigger. I noticed the PPS sight radius is much longer than the Ruger.

Ruger LC9
Length: 6.0"
Height: 4.5"
Width: .90"

Kahr PM9
Length: 5.42"
Height: 4.0"
Width: .90"

Walther PPS
Length: 6.3"
Height: 4.4"
Overall Width/Width without slidestop lever and takedown buttons: 1.04"/.91"

Maybe you need to get bigger pockets? Would you have your wife or girl friend get a boob reduction, or would you have her buy a bigger bra?
