Websites are one of the best tools to advertise and promote new products. Why hasn't Glock updated theirs?

Neither has their guns for the most part. But a new look would seem fitting. A Gen4.0 website is due. Right now it is:yawn:

    They don't need to....

Besides, they aren't trying to sell anymore, they are just trying to keep up with the demand... The Pistols sell themselves...

Exactly.....everybody already knows Glock without a website so what's the point? Gaston strikes me as an old school no frills kinda guy anyway.

yeah, I've been badgering them for a few years to hire me.

it could be so much better in navigation, appearance and community-aspect.

What else does it need? A removable side bar and dual image coding? I say why mess with perfection, just leave it the way it is.

By their website you'd never know they make a short frame G30.

    Or a 21SF, a variety of RTF's or a Gen 4 22...

Become a GSSF member and they will send you a 2010 Glock Annual which includes a G17L & G24 6" model, the 20,21,29 & 30 SF and of course the Gen 4.

Glock is definately at the bottom of the list for having an informative website. as stated earlier, they never show or mention the SFor RTF guns. Very poor IMHO, in this day and age.

I received this letter and perhaps it will help you understand.

    "Dear Dingus,

I appreciate your concern about my web site, but my employees are busy working day and night in an effort to get caught up on the 100,000+ pistols we are behind in production for law enforcement agencies around the globe.

    Sincerely,
    Gaston Glock"

My guess is that they just have more important things to deal with then spend the time interviewing and hiring a web/graphics designer. which in the grand scheme of things is true. However, I feel all companies that create a website to advertise their products should keep their website up to date with all of their products and Glock is no different. Why have a website Advertising your products if not all of them are there. If it is hard to navigate then less and less people are going to visit the site because they don't want the hassle of having to navigate the site.

And why do you all think this is important? And why should this be a topic in General Glocking? You all figured out there are more than just G17 Glocks. Been to the Glock website maybe 3 times total in 20 years. I care that they have one, but I don't care if it gets updated at all.

That's a good question. I don't care if Glock even has a web site. I don't think I have ever checked it out. No reason to.

I agree that they do not need to do so and should focus on putting out the quality guns they do... that being said - a website with updated information on pistol models WITH the corrected information would be a huge benefit for those that did not find this site by mistake. Does not have to be anything fancy but geeze at least put out the information direct from the horses mouth on model updates etc.

see the same issue with the team glock website - from what it looks like team glock has not done anything since 2007.
