Glock numbers: Production, ?% Civvies, ?% Leos?

Just wondering this today, a Glock armorer told me that 97% of production goes to LEOS and only 3% to mere humans.

I did not have any info to repute this but on its face this sounds funny.

So many Glocks available at retail, so many Glockaholics, I'm not even particularly into Glocks and I own THREE!

Most here seem to own several, and doggedly favor a certain model. It has an enthusiast following.

Anyone have the real ratio on ownership, govt/civilian? I'm thinkin more like 50/50.

Glock is a very private, family owned company. They do not share sales information, but about 70% of all LE Agencies in the USA, including the FBI, use Glocks. That's a lot of Glocks. Also remember that Glock is a global company, with military and LE sales around the world. Their success is staggering, as is their backlog of nearly 200,000 pistols.

Well somehow if we know the backlog is 200k units, someone might have a clue on sales.

The 70% of Leos in this country doenst surprise me, I've long heard "more than half" but that doenst relate to total production. Espectially since in any one area there are x police officers per x,000 population. Many more plain folks than cops.
