Has anyone, ever had a Glock factory magazine just fall out. Not hitting the release accidentally and after having properly seated the magazine?

No falling out for me, but I gotta ask: are you absolutely sure the mag was seated? Sometimes (and I HAVE had this happen) it looks seated but it's not and just enough to prevent proper operation of the gun and the mag slipping out. Just sayin' .... :whistling:

No, but I push them in pretty hard until I hear the click of the release locking it in place.
If you have an extended mag release, that's rumored by some to hit the holster when drawing or perhaps your thumb while shooting when you don't mean to.

Also.... if you fill the magazine to max capacity, it can be difficult to seat fully.

I shot 15 - 20,000 rounds a year and have never had a mag "just fall out".

Never ever. But I've seen plenty of them fall out that were never seated properly.

With IWB carry, I've had mags eject even without the extended ejction button.

I haven't had that happen, but I don't carry much. I have heard of mags falling out due to extended mag releases being pressed on a holstered gun.

Never had it happen with Glocks but my Taurus PT709 did that frequently. Crappy design of the latching mechanism and the cutout in the mags.

It has never happened to me, ever. I slap my mags in and I damn well make sure they're in there. The reason I ask is because there is an article here:

    http://www.armytimes.com/news/2011/08/army-pistols-with-a-shot-at-replacing-m9-82811w/

And I guess when they were running trials with the glocks the magazines were unexpectedly falling out. They never clarify if it was an accidental release, if the magazine wasn't seated properly etc.

Another reason why I brought this up is because I got into a pissing contest with a buddy about Glocks and M&Ps. And this was a point he was trying to make why M&Ps were better. I'm not saying they are, M&Ps are nice guns, I just dont like the feel of them in my hand.

Well with my G17 and some old magazines, the fully-loaded magazine has to be pulled out while pressing on the mag release. No worries about the mg falling out on its own.

They could be talking about the G21SF with ambi mag release.

+1 If the mag is new, loading one less round makes a noticeable difference.

pezboy nailed it.....that's why I asked 'Which Glock?'

The G21SF (the model submitted for said testing), had a new mag catch design.....that did not work out for Glock. Comparing M&P's to all Glocks by using this problem with the G21SF's 'ambi' mag catch is bogus.

It's too bad Glock didn't decide to fix the problem and instead stopped making the ambi release. I had the common issue with the mag release falling apart and found an easy fix that worked. The cause of the problem was the mag catch had a squared edge where it fit in the notch on the magazine. Round the edge of the catch and make sure the flat spring holding it all together is pushed all the way in and problem solved. Since I did that a few years ago I haven't had a single issue.

Oh no, Glocks have a inadvertent magazine ejection problem now. Must of been a Gen4 as the previous designs did not have this issue. Wonder if Glock will pay for me to ship all my guns back to them to fix this?
