I was wondering if this is normal wear on magazines. they fully seat and lock, have never fallen out, and stay in if I give a little tug from the floor plate. These are gen 5 mags with around 1,000 rounds through them hot and plenty more insertions for dry-fire. I don't think it will be an issue, but there is definitely some material eroded and I want to catch the problem ASAP if ANY mag notch wear is abnormal because the last thing I want in a self-defense situation is for my mags to fall out. And no, I'm not using a metal mag catch, its OEM

Most of my mags look like that or worse. I don't have any issues. I shoot between 15k~17k rds a year in competition and practice.

Is your magazine catch OEM and polymer? If so, then you are good to go. If you use an aftermarket non polymer one then it will wear your mags in the area you are concerned.
