Found this at Youtube
saw the clip...
damn... a G23 was used... same as my unit...
but the culprit was a reloaded ammo (with cartridge failure)
Good thing nothing serious happened to shooter...
hmmm... should this make me want to change my unit from a G23 to a G19 or maybe a g26???
or what about getting a diff gun --- USP compact 40...
I also use reload ammo but from certified gunshops like PB Dionisio.. so far so good... but this makes me want to consider changing caliber...
Something tells me this is going to end up in the gunzone. Good thing shooter doesn't appear seriously injured.
just in case anyone's interested in disposing of a secondhand G23, please let me know
Dude, any Glock will KB if you keep using crap ammo, better to have your own brass (mark them for easy identification) and have it reloaded by a reputable reloader like StrongHand...one more word of advise from Bien - even if you have it reloaded at StrongHand, don't rush them. Just get it a day later or something. Quality reloaded ammo takes time and care to make, it's worth the wait.
Hey --- THANKS for the info
sige --- will sched the reload and not rush it...
That guy looks really familiar.....
IMO just clean your barrel thoroughly when using lead bullets or just use jacketed bullets and new casings and KB's aren't really a big issue.
Any gun can KB if you feed it with crappy ammo. I believe early model .40 Glocks are more prone to KB because the chamber is not fully supported. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Glock has already redesigned their chamber for the newer generations of .40 Glocks.
I've been using reloads on my G35 and the original barrel now logs 6,500+++ rounds. So far so good. I can say the newer glocks has addressed the chamber issue.
Word of caution is that you should keep your gun clean and use quality-controlled ammo.
I believe any gun will kB if used with an over-charged/double-charged ammo be it Glock or otherwise.
I can't confirm if Glock has redesigned their chamber for the .40 since I only have a 9mm (G19) but I can confirm that although my unit is a 3rd Gen, I will have KB after around 8-10k rds.
I have a circular wear mark on my breachface due to using crap range ammo which that didn't have proper primer seating...I learned about using quality ammo too late.
I'm already looking for a Caspian Slide and a Bar-Sto barrel for the future.
hey thats my upload ah.sikat na yung kaibigan ko.
Oops. Sorry mercfreak. Was searching "glock" sa youtube when I saw that kb video.
just happy that you found the video interesting
hey sir merc,
what happened to your friend's hand?
what happened to his gun?
was it really a glock 23?
could you fill us in on the whole story please.
Isnt the circular wear simply a normal wear found on most autopistols that has fired at least 1000 rounds?
I was thinking of the same thing. All pistols that I have shot have those type of wear marks.
