As soon of you may have read my threads, I have been having issues with my new G19 gen 3. I was having very erratic ejection, and frequent stovepipes with multiple types of ammo.

I sent it to them on 9-20, and got it back less then 2 weeks later. They had replaced my extractor for a much nicer fitting, "non-dimple/dip" extractor, and said they test fired with 2 shooters 50 rounds each, and the gun was "to factory spec" before it left the factory.

I was confident they had fixed it. So during the last 2 weeks I have put over 600 rounds down the pipe of all sorts if ammo from federal champ, WWB, blazer brass, Speer lawmen, and gold dots. They ejection had seemed to stop, well maybe that's what I wanted to believe. The ejection was not as bad as before, but it was still hitting me in the face, about 3 rounds per mag. And I have had 3 stovepipes since its been back, 1 with federal, 1 with Speer lawman, and 1 with Gold dots(I was in awe).

So I called Glock yesterday and told them everything, and that I am still having the exact same erratic ejection and stovepipes with the pistol and its only been back a couple weeks. I was told again, that they would, and will install the new ejector upon request in a gen 3.(I made sure he knew it was gen 3 and not gen 4)

So he sent me a prepaid shipping label, and I sent it off, again, last night.

I called Glock this morning to ask the guys about the new ejector going into the gen 3 19's, just to make sure.(last time I was told the same thing and I never got the ejector) And the guy I was speaking with informed me that the ejector WILL NOT go into the gen 3. Wow, this same thing happened last time with another guy. There needs to be a memo down there stating the ejector only works in gen 4, because some of the guys think it works with both.

So I explained that it does not function properly, I do not trust the gun with my life. He said he was going to put another ejector from another gen 3 19 and test fire it. That was not very assuring to me. So I explained that if the new ejector will not fit, I would like a gen 4 with all the.updated parts, and they can keep my pistol. Well, he said he couldn't make that call(which I completely understand), and he said he would talk to his boss and call me back.

He called me back 5 minutes later and informed me that they WILL Exchange it.for a gen 4 19 with all the updated parts. I was very happy to hear this because I did not want to take a loss sellng it, and I did not want it back without the new ejector.

It will take around 2 weeks from Monday to get it to me. The bottom line here is that Glock IS standing by their product, and they are trying to make customers happy.

The tech guy that helped me today was by far THE MOST helpful CS rep I have ever dealt with. He was very patient and understanding of my frustrations. He was eager to make me a happy customer, and he did.

I am very pleased with Glocks customer service, and how they dealt with this situation. I give them 5 stars. Even though the gun was a melon, they tried to fix it the first time, didn't, and replaced the second time around with no questions asked.

It will be about 2 weeks until I get it, and it will have the newest RSA, and ejector. I will keep yall posted on how it shoots. :)

That's encouraging to hear. After reading so many reports from owners here and elsewhere about recent QC, I'm glad Glock is trying to do the right thing in this case. I got lucky and bought a gen 3 from a good year, but since then have learned how truly lucky I am compared to the few who have had issues.

If you had trouble shooting a Gen 3 G19 you will have the same trouble with the Gen 4. The factory tested it for one hundres rounds to verify ejection and you still are having issues. It is the loose nut behind the trigger!

Yes. They are shipping it to my house. I asked if it needs to be sent to an FFL, and he said no, that is not an issue for NC.

And to cripes7, I am not a rookie to pistols, I have been shooting for 13 years, no limp wristing here brother. It is a recent production g19 test fire dat 6-3-11. If you do research this is a common issue.

They sent me a replacement gun to my house, too. It's nice living in Free America, isn't it? I have to say, after screwing up with some internal communication, Glock took good care of me as well.

I just received my gen 3 G19 back from Glock too. I was having similar issues - brass to the face. Hopefully I'll be able to take it out tomorrow and shoot it a bit and experience no more brass to the face.

I don't think the reports of brass to the face are shooter induced, at least not in large part. There are too many shooters that have experience with Glocks that are having problems. I would agree if it was the first pistol you've owned or shot or maybe even the first Glock you've fired, but many of us have at least some experience with Glock that goes back several years or more and we are now having problems that we didn't with prior early gen 3s and gen 2s.

There is a lot of speculation as to what happened that caused this shift in reliability and we might never know for sure what really happened. I used to work for a car parts manufacturer that moved a plant from Ohio to Indiana and after the move we suffered huge quality control issues. Instead of rectifying the problem and not shipping defective merchandise until it was sorted out, it was decided that enough of the products would be fine and the rest would trickle in for warranty and that would be better than a period of zero revenue while the issues were really sorted out. At least Glock is taking care of its customers.

I would be concerned though that if this continues to happen that their willingness to exchange a pistol might disappear. People really hate or really love the youtube guy Nutnfancy, but he had a Ruger pistol that had issues that was sent back to Ruger. Ruger said they fixed/test fired it and functioned fine, but when he got it back it still wasn't right. He documented the pistol's malfunctions on youtube and Ruger eventually replaced it for him. Most likely he had a lemon. It might be necessary to video these issues that some of us are having to prove to the naysayers and it might be helpful to Glock as well to see the problems that their customers are claiming.

I hope your G19 is working right. Since mine came back a couple weeks ago, I ran about 600 rounds through it of various brass to show myself it is not the ammo. I have had stovepipes with federal champ, WWB, blazer brass, Speer lawmen, and GOLD DOTS.(yes, gold dots). In all I have put exactly 1075 rounds through my G19 gen 3. I documented every range trip for this reason. From the type of ammo, how may rounds fired, what malfunctions if any, and how many shooters shot that day.

Also, I am not bragging, but I am a good shot, and I am experienced with pistols and I do not limp wrist. I maintain a firm grip every shot, with the slide of the pistol lined up with my forearm.

It is funny to hear some of the guys on this forum that think Glocks are almost god like, and are literally perfect, and its ALWAYS shooter error. Don't get me wrong, some of the erratic ejection issues and stovepipes are from rookies that don't know how to hold/shoot a damn gun. I have seen people at the range that can't even get a shot on a full size silhouette target from 7 yards, those would be the "limp wristers" these guys here are always talking about.

I'm don't ranting now. :)

Good luck with your G19 sir!

Congrats on the trade up. It is great that Glock is going above and beyond to fix the guns with issues.

I can't believe people are still blaming the shooter with all the problems with the guns. Do they really think Glock would replace all these parts and guns if that was the case?
