Hey guys I’m sure this question has been asked already. But do you think glock has plans to release any other caliber besides 9x19 in the gen 5 platform?Especially since they switched back to the two pin frame on the 9x19.

Good question for discussion and speculation. I think Glock made some Gen 5 40 S&W’s for a military or law enforcement contract, none for civilian sale. There are a few guns still being produced that didn’t make it past Gen 3.

If I had to guess...yes. To me if Glock only decided to make 9mm Gen5 models, it doesn't really make sense to call them "Gen5" as that generally would be applied to an entire lineup, not just one specific caliber. I hope they do, I'd like some Gen5 .40's

Thanks for the replies guys. But to me if they do some 40 and 45 gen 5’s wouldn’t they have to use the three pin design? It’s already been proven that the two pin won’t hold up to the increase in velocity of the 40 round..

I kind of like the 9mm exclusivity...

With the recent decline in popularity of the .40 S&W, I have a hard time seeing a Gen5 22/23/27 on the horizon but wouldn’t be surprised if we started seeing some .45ACP Gen5s. I’d love to see a Gen5 21

Well if they don’t make anything in 40-45 in the gen 5 that’s fine, I still have my gen3’s and fours that still work. I guess to many years shooting 40, I just don’t care for 9x19..

To me, it’s inevitable to move to Gen 5 since many people like the Magwell feel, the ambidextrous slide release and the 2 pin design.

I’d like to get a Glock 41, but I’m already up to 9 Glocks, including the Gen 3 30 and 30S.

Google: "PMESP Glock" and read all about it.

The above picture is not my pic.
I found it on Google. Lol

And Yes, that is a safety you see in the picture.

That pic has showed up in other threads on GT. I'd buy it tomorrow if it was available in the US.

It along with other pics show up if you search
    PMESP Glock on Google.
Apparently the Brazilian Police Force are testing it.
Who knows if it will ever be a civilian option for sale in the U.S.
Guess we will have to wait and see.

I'm sorry, but a Glock should never have a manual safety. I really hope in the distant future that does not become commonplace and previous models are phased out...

How do you like the 30s? I have been curious about it for awhile. Does it shoot as well as the 30? I had a gen 4 g30 I wish I had back, was dumb and traded it for an HK ....

I like it a lot. Recoil is a little more pronounced. It’s great as a carry gun, though, in the winter.

I’m still more accurate at longer distances with my conventional 30 but I have different sights (TFO, fiberoptic and Tritium).

    I’d buy a 22.5 and a 23.5 immediately.
