I have an old style front sight tool with a nut driver on each end of a black metal cylindrical shaped handle. The handle is stamped Glock and U S A. Each nut driver is mounted on a threaded shaft that turns both ways inside the handle. When turned CW the threaded shafts bottom out and lock. So either end can be used to tighten a nut turning CW. However, turned CCW the handle runs off the threaded shafts. So it seems that the tool can be used in one direction only, tightening a nut.

Is this tool intended to remove nuts from front sights? If so, how do you do it? I'd prefer not putting loctite on the shaft threads unless there's no other way to do it. The task at hand is to change out Heinie front sights.
