I just wanted to share with other Big Dawgs a great service I had done on two of my Glocks. I am a big fan of the OD frames on Glocks but had to buy mine in black since they were LE guns at great prices. Through GT, I met Adam Pennington at AP Custom Finishes in Ohio. I sent him my G22 first (least often carried pistol) in case I didn't like the look. I asked for a Coyote Brown and it came back in about 5 days looking GREAT! I assembled the pistol and...WOW! Adam uses the same Duracoat made popular by Lauer on their FNs and ARs. I had solid colors done on mine, but he might be able to do camo patterns also.

Five days ago I sent Adam my baby, a new G21, with a request for an OD green or his Combat Green finish. I just received it via USPS a few minutes ago and the Combat Green looks awesome. It looks alot like a dark OD used in Vietnam era gear. All that's necessary is to send him your frame and postage is very cheap for this light weight package. Check him out if you want to jazz up you already-cool pistol. He works on other guns as well and some examples are on his website at apcustomfinishes.com His GT user name is fourrobert13, contact him for pricing.

I hope to have pics of both of my Glocks up tomorrow. Be patient.

    Yes, interested in seeing it.

Thought about doing my SW99 frame in OD green one day.

This guy will do you right (not the San Francisco meaning).
THe price can't be beat either (super-cheap). I won't post his price to me though, he might have given me a deal. E-mail him to get a quote.

    +1 for www.apcustomfinishes.com

He has done my 19/34/36, and I just gave him my 17 yesterday.

Turn around time is fast. In fact, he just called me to say that my frame was done, and he was working on the slide today. Said that he would have it done by the morning, and drop it off to me. You can't beat that with a stick!

Post some pics of the frames.

What does the texture feel like? I've always been afraid that it would feel gritty or look like paint on the frame. My slides are hard chromed, but I might be interested in getting a frame colored.

Also, I wonder about holster wear. Right now, my frame doesn't show holster wear - it was only the slide. And with the hard chrome, it's not an issue anymore. But, with a new finish on the frame, it might wear a bit in the front of the frame.

Finish is just like your original Glock. The colors are matte and are not shiny at all. It doesn't looklike its been painted and there really is no texture. It looks and feels just like an OD Glock would look/feel, but in a myriad of colors.

I haven't had mine long enough to talk much about wear on the frame, but the draws and re-holstering I have done over the past week or so (in Fobus and Uncle Mike's kydex) shows only a barely noticeable shiny spot on the front of the trigger guard where the holster retains the gun. This is the same place your regular Glock wears when holstered.

I'm sitting here with my newly done G21 and it just plain looks cool. The Combat Green I have on it is dark enough that from a distance the pistol still looks black, but up close it has a very classy looking dark OD color. I gotta go, need to get you guys some pics taken... be right back.

Here is a pic of my 36 that he did.

He did this one about 6 months ago. I carry it everyday in a kydex holster.

He did the slide in whatever black he uses to match the glock black, and he did the frame in combat gray.

Thank you guys very much. Opie I just got your email, thanks again, and I'll get those pictures on the website. Sprmedic, your G17 is done and I'll see you tomorrow when I drop it off to you. Glad you guys like your guns, they look very sharp.

    Thanks again,

I like that dark bluish/greyish color. But, I kinda want an OD green, but one that is lighter that in the pic on his website.

Adam did my G26 slide and it looks great. If you want your gun refinished give him your business.
