Greetings JR My question is about the finish aplied to the L serial numbered glock factory replacement barrels. Does the finish differ from the stock barrels that came with 3rd gen models? The reason i ask is because the factory barrel i recently bought from a big name co is different from my stock. This barrel is dark black and shiny. The finish wears rather easily. My stock charcoal colored barrels still look new after thousands of rounds fired. My new replacements finish is worn off after 200 rounds fired (one range trip). Are replacment stock (L- serial numbered) barrels finished different from stock? TIA

    Good question.
Glock Inc has changed finishes several times over the last 10 years.
The finish will give you a better idea regarding the actual date of manufacture.
Unfortunately Glock Inc is not giving up the transitions dates or sources.
