Almost 23 years old. G19 gen2 with Austrian proof marks. Serial BPAxxx and barrel date code PDM = Aug 1995
FA 900 on a model 19 means what? NPVstd on barrel
For GLOCK pistols with Austrian proof marks, the barrel will have a 3-letter date code (not to be confused with the 2, 3 or 4-letter alpha on the serial number) that translates to the date when the barrel/pistol was test fired (Gun's born on date)
Your G19 with serial FA900 and barrel date code STD = May 1989
Here's the key for interpreting the 3-letter barrel date code:
The 3 letters represent the barrel test fire date code:
The first letter is for the month:
The last two letters are for the year:
ED266 17L Gen 2, Austrian proof
also have DA426 17L which is of course GEN1
It’s funny, I can remember buying this thing, I remember the salesman, but hell if I can remember the year.
G30, 3 letter prefix is DCF
CR 72* what am I looking at for a date here? It’s a 17.1
I find this hard to follow and if it is true then my Glock 32 in .357 Sig. was made in Oct of 45 and the Glock was not even made then! CFP 681
You are confusing the serial number prefix with the barrel date code.
This table is how to date the barrels by the barrel date code. This is a 3 character date code on the barrel. They only appear on Austrian made guns, not US made.
Check out the second photo of post #45 here. It's of one of my Gen 1 17 L P guns. You can see the ATT (Dec. 88) barrel date code to the right of the proof marks which are to the right of the SN on the barrel.
Ok maybe I’m being dense but what would AAD*** be?
Please see post 49 above. You are confusing the serial number prefix w the barrel date code.
SFD. My gen 4 19 was made May 1949. Where's Rod Serling when you expect him?
Guys,. Please read post 44 and 49 above. Please.
You are also confusing the serial number prefix with the barrel date code.
The serial number prefix is not a date code.
My gen2 barrel doesn’t have any other numbers on it other than that serial number and 9x19 small Glock logo and a small pentagon
My generation 2 says Made in Austria on the frame and slide
For some reason not all austrian-made barrels even ones that are serial number to guns seem to have been proof tested. If anyone has any insight into why this is please do share.
In any case the date codes only appear on barrels that also have proof marks. if the barrel does not have a proof mark even if it's made in Austria there is no date code.
My Glock 17 has serial number YM or VM8xx the "x" being numbers. Can anyone tell me what model and year it is? It does have Gen 2 type gripping. I won't ever buy another one without the Gen stamp...lol.
It is my understanding that only 20% of fire arm barrels need be proof tested. Considered a high enough amount to be considered statistically accurate for that purpose.
Mine is the same as yours. Also has a dot in the middle of pentagon. I called Glock cause mine started with YM***. They said it was Austrian made chrome barrel manufactured in Dec 1991
