I have a Uhl-Conversion. It has exactly the same weight as the Glock Slide and Barrel, is made of steel and uses a recoil-enhancer for reliability. Works like a charm and the accuracy is above the standard of my Glock 17 (under 10cm at 25m) when fired from a ransom: 7 cm spread at 25m are entirely possible.

Only trouble: the conversion is about 650€, the mags (converted original Glock magazines) are above 60€.
Sjones, get an Advantage arms conversion kit, is the best accesorie for any Glock model, very accurate, do a search in the forum and you will see that everybody loves it, for about $250 is a lot of fun.

EJP what´s a UHL Conversion, I have never seen that, would you please share pics of yours, a link to their website or where did you get it please.

Thank you.
I've been trying online all morning to find one, everybody is sold out with a 2 to 3 month back order,
It's just too much money IMO.

9mm can be had for $200 per 1000 if you look hard enough.

The recoil difference is just too much to overlook.
I question how well of a trainer it really is.

I have a .22lr conversion in my AR15 and the recoil difference is so large I just don't see how it could truly be a good trainer, its more fun then anything else.

At $140 for the kit and $20-$25 per mag its easy to see how the AR15 was worth the money.

The glock conversion kit and mags are so expensive, I'd rather just buy 9mm and train with that as much as I can. And what's with the mags being 10 rounds? I know rimmed cartridges are tough to stack in mags, but for that price they should have figured some thing out.
The AA kit will pay for itself in about 1000 rds of .40 cal ammo. WELL worth it to me to be able to shoot an unlimited amount. I can shoot all day long for $30 with the conversion. You can shoot about 100 rds out of a 9mm or a .40

This is pretty much true. However, with the cost of ammo and trying to find it - I shoot off a box of 9mm occassionally.

Advantage of the kit is so that I can stay familiar with only one gun.
The AA kit does pay for itself. Sure, I run into occassional jamming....I look at it as good training.

As far as accuracy, the sights are adjustable. The LE sights can be changed to night sites, etc.

These kits can be found at various pawn or gun shops. Ozark Armory in Springdale, Arkansas had several kits several weeks ago. Loftis pawn shop here in Spfld, MO had the 17 - 22 kit several days ago.

My Ruger MKI is a tack driver.
My AA conversion on my 21 groups OK about 1 inch low at 50'. I haven't messed with the sights and probably I won't. I get my trigger time and that alone has improved my shooting of the 21. I don't care about the lack of recoil, I didn't buy the kit to practice combat or target shooting. MHO...it was money well spent.
Uhl is pretty much the standard-conversion in Austria and Germany. I have only once seen an AA-Kit and have only heard of ciener. Both are not held in high regard here because the uhl is considered the benchmark when it comes to accuracy, reliability and durability. As I have never shot one of these conversions, I will not comment on the topic, but I consider the system a work of art and worth every cent I payed.

I think it is a great tool for quick draw/1st shot timing for USPSA.
The first shot is the first shot... .22 or .40
I was thinking about not shootng in our next event. Ammo is too much. But at least I can still got to the range and practice.
Practicing quick draw with a Ruger Mark III and then shooting G22 in a competition is... well... not practical.
Just got a AA kit for my 19 on Friday and ran it at the range yesterday. I was shooting steel at 25 yards with it, so I can't comment on its grouping, but I can say I was plinking that steel ever time. It was an absolute blast and a great purchase.

I did switch back to 9mm and ran 50 through it after shooting 22 just to "refamiliarize."

Thanks for the info!
Saw the AA being shot for the first time at Saturdays match.
Started the web search myself and found out they were backordered everywhere until at least September

Telephoned a newer shop here in CT and he had one left! Plue extra magazine. Feel like I hit the lottery.

Will be trying it out tomorrow. Impressed with the workmanship.
With ammo prices going up. Having a .22 conversion for my G22 RTF2 was going to help me not only save $$, but also get familiarize with the trigger pull. I figured dry firing will get boring soon. I get the best of both worlds, shoot and not spend so much on ammo.

Let us know how you like it,Ive got a G22 rtf and currently have the .357 sig and 9mm conversions.Im looking to save some expense by going the .22 route.
Shoots great!!
I lubed it as per instructions (it comes with a small bottle of breakfree and a mini cleaning kit)

Used Remington golden bullet high velocity, 40gr, as per instructions.
Went through a brick, 500rds, with NO problems. Hardly had to adjust the sight. It is a standard glock adjustable rear. Shot at 25yds. Decent groups. Certainly good enough for a rimfire plate match gun. They say CCI mini mags are more accurate. Not able to try them today, maybe tomorrow.

VERY happy with it. At shy of $300., I think it is very useful and a value. It allows you to better "feel" the glock trigger reset, so I think it will assist in big bore practice.

Will probably order one for my 19 as well, but not sure of the value for a 26/27.??

They are located in CA (I think out of Valencia)... that kinda sucks for everyone else, but not for me since I live in CA too
Try the following: www.22lrconversions.com $199 + shipping
As long as nothing ever goes wrong with the kit cause he is a hiney hole to deal with. Decent conversion kits but bad business.
Thanks for the heads up on a lousy business. I didn't like the fact they don't accept credit cards. Only checks (held two weeks), and money orders. Not very convenient.
