Greetings.

The trigger on my factory (except for a mag release change and a grip plug) Glock 35 Gen.3 is starting to drag and feel gritty. After 3500+ rounds it is requiring that I disassemble the rear trigger mechanism and clean it after every time I shoot it, or the trigger drags to the point of not resetting. I have narrowed the issue to the CONNECTOR which when even slightly dirty drags on the trigger bar unnecessarily hard. It also seems like by default there is too much pressure being exerted by the CONNECTOR, but I am unsure as this is my first Glock.

Questions:
1) Does the connector need to be replaced periodically?
2) Is the angle of mine pictured below correct?

The connector looks like it is sprung out a little more than required. The only part that "drags" on the connector is the tallest part (rounded head). This piece engages the cam in the slide. Other than engaging the cam, it should not tough any other part of the slide.

Basically pretty hard to wear out but pretty easy to bend out of shape by improperly removing or installing.

Funny thing is: I have never, ever, EVER reomved that piece. Not even to clean it. But, if I were to do so, I see that there is a round hole in the middle of the slot that fits the "Glock tool" (which you can see laying on my Glock mat in the background of the pictures) so pushing it out from the trigger mechanism from the left side (as pictured above) instead of pulling it out from the right side (as pictued above) would be the correct way to remove it.

Considering the fact that I have not removed it or bent it, I could ask how it could bend, but it seems to me the answer would probably be that it has been that way since day one, and now that I have some wear on both the trigger bar and the connector, the lack of a completely smooth surface is making itself apparent and is likely the culprit.

I have two options: replace it or bend it.

The question is: how flat to the trigger mechanism should it be? Flush?

If possible, post a pic of said wear marks. You may be better off replacing both.
The connector requires a slight outward bend. About half of what you have now. It should never be flush with the trigger housing.

There seems to be a rough spot on the birds head of the trigger bar. I doubt it will be engaging the connector however you can stone it flat just in case. The connector looks good to go (except for the bend)

Thanks a bunch JR. I'll break out the Dremel and polish that up and bend the connector a little.

I will! I'll also post some comparison pictures of my connector, a replacement factory Glock connector, and a factory Glock "plus" connector to illustrate the differences in the bend if any.
