I am looking at getting a used glock. maybe a g22 or g23 might even go with a g19. I am looking at the gen 2 and the gen 3. I like the looks of the gen 3.
I do not know if it is just me but the color looks different between the 2 generations. To me the gen 3 glocks look darker black.
Can someone tell me if that is the case or its just me.
    thanks

I remember something about the process for the black finish changing. It caused quite a debate because there was arguments about the tenifer hardening which is a carbonitriding process vs. the black color which is a phosphate treatment. (I think)
Supposedly GLOCK now uses a Quench Polish Quench Tenifer process now. (I think)

No. They just add black coloring to the plastic while it's fluid, so it's black throughout.
If you polish the steel, the black comes off and it's a gray steel color.
