I need clarification about the Glock gun certificates.

    Are they all the same?

Here is the situation. I remember reading posts here about winning a gun at a GSSF match and adding money to the coupon to purchase different models. not specified on the coupon.

Do these certificates say anything about "No Substiutions"?

I club I am a member of has received several such coupons from Glock and I am wondering if the "No Substitutions" thing is a solid rule or just merely a suggestion. By suggestion meaning no substitutions unless you are willing to pay for the substitution.

    Any input is appreciated!

    Thanks!
    Corey

With the GSSF cert you pick which ever model you want and you only pay if the model you select has an upgrade fee. The G17/19/22/23/26/27/31/32/33 are free, everything else has an upgrade fee.

It's all clearly spelled out on the GSSF certificates.

you can NOT have anything added to the normal configuration of whichever model you choose (night sights, adjustable sights, extended mag release, etc). i think thats what the "no substitutions" refers to (no substituting parts).

With the excellent array of Glock accessory suppliers out there, I'd like to have that "no substitutions" burden. Will eat my veggies and work hard this year to that end. ;f

For the non-GSSF-members here, tell us more about these certificates?

anyone that wins a pistol at a gssf match actually wins a certificate that can be redeemed for a pistol. you must mail the certificate to glock with a copy of your dealers FFL. glock will then ship the gun you picked to the dealer.

some guns are totally free, others require you to pay an upgrade fee. the fee varies depending on the gun. i think the 34 and 35 have the highest fee...close to $100 ($104???).

Is that something done at every shoot, or just select events?

Is there anyway to join online or by phone? Anything other than the mail in form?

^c Be careful; you're likely to enjoy it so much that you'll need therapy (i.e., attend more matches). :)

    They're on EST btw.

    El Duderino,

You may join online, by fax, by U.S. Mail or at a match. There must be at least a dozen pistols and numerous cash prizes awarded at each of the 30 matches. You don't have to finish 1st place overall to win a pistol, due to the Lewis Scoring System: In Amateur/Civilian, if there are 150 entries, then 1st Place, 51st Place and 101st Place win a new Glock.

    Faxed it in!

I think I have a real shot at the 51 and 101 thing. LOL

Oh, and I think I know the answer but would this be a great excuse to buy a new G35?

The G35 can only be used in the "Competition" and Unlimited/Master class in the GSSF matches. You can get all the rules at GSSFONLINE ;)

Will drop you in Deep water.

When learning to swim not really the best place.

I am sure that the sharks will welcome you warmly.
