Yep, that is the word people have received from Glock, Inc. sources. For clarification, the Gen3 SF (short frame) versions of the G20SF, G21SF, G29SF, and G30SF will remain in production after January, 2014.

Here is a recent GT thread with more info and comments: ALL “C” Models Will Be Discontinued

Is a G20S and G21S in the works at Glock?

The G30S seems to be a winner and very popular.

The G18 really needs the compensator option. Since it is "agency" sales only, perhaps the G18 will still continue to be sold often with compensator, even after 2014. Or perhaps it is time for the G18 to become history.

A theory floating around here of GT is the CA law on Gun Design will keep the Gen3 Glocks on the market.

Will California amend their law to allow the Gen 4 in the State is the question as I understand it.

Are Gen 4 being used by CA Law Enforcement?

The slide mass reducing slots on the four long-slide models are present solely to improve the slide velocity on recoil, for reliable cycling. The slide recoil velocity of the long slides without that mass reduction would be too low.

Pre-Gen 4 long-slide G34 and G35 pistols use the same RSA (part SP 01533) as the pre-Gen 4 standard-slide G17 and G22. The Gen 4 long-slide G34 uses the same RSA (part SP 08284) as the Gen 4 standard-slide G17, and the Gen 4 long-slide G35 uses the same RSA (part SP 07577) as the Gen 4 standard-slide G22. Reducing slide mass is the only solution other than RSA force reduction that maintains adequate slide recoil velocity for the long-slide models.

For a competition pistol, weight at the muzzle is usually considered a very positive feature. Glock would not adversely impact a positive feature for some sort of "balance backwards" nonsense. Physics/dynamics compels long-slide mass reduction, not "balance".
