I have a model 22 in a 40 cal. Today the big pin above the trigger broke. Anyone have this happened before? Is this normal wear and tear or is there a underlying problem with my gun?? I have shot about 3000 to 3500 rounds thought the gun.

There have been reports in the past of trigger pins breaking. You might try a search and see if the threads show up.

Many people suspect an out of dimension locking block that may be causing the problem..

Yes I ordered a new one and now have to wait to install it. I still don't understand why this would break. The loads fired in it aren't overly powerful. Well thanks for the info. I will try to keep extras on hand incase it happens again.
