I believe I read here that Glock began using a different finish on its barrels some time back. Supposedly to give it a "harder" finish, whatever that means. My G-22 and G-23 barrels are the normal black color, whereas my newer G-27 seems to have a grayish black color. Have not shot the G-27 nearly as much as the other two, but the markings on the top of the barrel where it comes in contact with the muzzle during cycling are more pronounced on the 22 & 23, and there is almost nothing showing on the 27. This is not one of those "how-long-will-my-barrel-last questions," since I know they will all outlast me. Just curious about Glock's manufacturing decisions. Thanks
