Watching a YouTube video on cleaning Glocks. This guy said an armorer uses baby wipes on his Glocks. Not saying its good or bad but wanted some input. It sounds ridiculous but could make sense. Would post the bid but on a phone and can't get the link.

Baby wipes have lanolin and other stuff you probably don't want on your gun, don't they?
Better then nothing i guess. But you still have to clean the bore, nobody is using baby wipes for that. So why not just use the stuff you use to clean the bore.

Just use the proper equipment/items to clean your firearms and you will be much happier over time.

You could probably lube it with baby oil too, but that doesn't make these the best products for gun care.

Azacly!! Sheesh! I just wipe the whole gun down with a little CLP...and I mean just a little. Brings out the color on the frame and helps protect the slide. Doesn't seem to make the gun too slick to hold on to. Looks purty.

Wish my camera worked, I polished the barrel and the serrations on the slide. Just the right amount of "bling."

Forgetting whether they work better than regular gun cleaning products, my guess is that they would be much more expensive than say a rag.

If it's safe to use on a baby's butt, I doubt it could do any harm to a Glock.

Actually, I've used nothing but baby wipes to clean my Glocks for many years. Baby wipes, a few q-tips and a bore snake. Sometimes I use a dental pick to clean the carbon from around the mouth of the chamber. I no longer use Hoppes (though I do miss the smell).

The wipes do a great job, don't require a well ventilated work space and don't require me to clean up my work space after I clean the guns. I invite you all to try using baby wipes the next time you clean your Glocks. You may be pleasently suprised.

I don't think a baby wipe would hurt anything people have buried glocks for 1-2 years with minimal rust, you paint the picture

Exactly. I'm happy to use plain water & a rag if I had too.
I don't know why there's this thinking that guns need all these special cleaners & special tools to clean them.

The lube is what's important. And on a Glock it's not that important.

Lol @ the replies. Let me clear it up that I use hoppes for my gun. I was curious as to why baby wipes would even be thought of. [ame]Http://youtu.be/_ilJbojQ2x8[/ame] I believe it the link.

Baby wipes are old hat. Wet-naps are all the rage now.
