Not my pic, got it from another fellow member.

So looks like Glock will be launching other calibers in Gen 5.
Any news rumors for a single stack .45 Gen 5 model?

I mean a single stack 10 mil is cool. A 45 would probably do fairly well. But I still think they have more refining to do. The Sig 365 as much as I hate to say it seems well thought out.

I think I remember that picture as a hoax from several months back.

I’d be more interested in a single stack .45

Striker gun is already a less than ideal platform for harnessing the 10mm’s full potential. AddI got a slide with less mass into the equation would be a horrible idea.

    @ss30378 ammiright?

Feels like it has to be. There just can't be that much of a market for a slim, polymer, striker 10mm, and with that capacity, small.

Especially when they don't have a Gen 5 .45 ACP out yet, which will almost certainly be a much, much better seller.

I love 10mm and enjoy that it's been making a comeback but this doesn't pass the smell test.

Yeah it’s definitely fake, the product code is bogus. Same pic from a few months back. Even if it were real, it would be a silly gun.

If that picture is real, then the G49 is 7 rounds short of getting my attention.

I personally wouldn’t want a tiny gun in 10mm myself but to each there own.

In overall design a full size striker fired gun like the Glock or XDM works great with normal on up to warm 10mm loads with not much more than a spring change. With nuclear loads, there’s limited tuning options in stock form to keep slide velocity down and then problems develop. The weapon is a mechanical system designed around certain specs and once those specs are exceeded you have issues to address.

FTFs and frame battering become rather common with high slide velocity. Hammer fired guns allow for a couple more tuning points to adjust but you still run into limitations pretty quickly and reliability suffers.

Easiest and best way to tame slide velocity is a threaded barrel and good compensator but many folks don’t care for them. I’ve run recoil springs setups up to 52lbs in Glock’s and have welded and reshaped the Glock locking block to retime the gun with success but it still isn’t as effective as a good compensator. Mind you all of my guns are full size and or long slides with lots of weight.

Trying to tame a lightweight slide would be straight to compensator do not pass go do not collect $200.

All Glock would have to do is take a G36 and put a 10mm barrel and magazine in it, extend the barrel to 4 inches and extend the grip to hold an 8 round mag and Voila! (pronounced wallah!) they'd have a G49.

My G29 seems to have plenty of "POP" for a 10 mm. I don't need a single stack with a pinky ext. on the bottom of the Mags.

It is a disservice to the forum to vomit up this obviously fake hoax picture...AGAIN!
