I finally shot my glock 42 today. I had purchased a couple of months back and have not taken the time to take it to the range. I also had my Sig 238 with me so it was a brief side by side comparison. The 42 was soft shooting as is the 238. The 42 is bigger but lighter, stuff we all know. So I moved on to putting the 42 through some shooting.
I was shooting steel at 7 yards I varied shoot timing from slow steady fire to fast magazine dump. Ran double taps, triple taps. 200 rounds of PMC Bronze 90 grain 380. Not a single failure to fire or failure to feed. Not one stove pipe or brass to the face. Nothing nada, no malfunctions of any kind. So I switched to Hornady XTP 90 grain hollow point. 50 rounds through the 42 same results. No malfunctions.
All in all I think it is gong to be a good addition for a carry gun, as soon as find a decent left handed holster.

Good to hear all went well at the range. The G42 is a great carry gun. I carry mine every day.

I had the same results, now well past 2K+, full speed ahead no stoppages of any kinds.

Blade Tech Klipt AIWB. IMHO, one of the best holsters, and especially for the 42!
There is an ambi version of this holster.

Always nice to hear more love for the 42!!

Good thing you got the left handed model. The right handers can't shoot the left handed model as they have all kinds of malfunctions. We have 3 that run like a sewing machine.

I like mine too. Had a couple malfunctions the first 150 rounds, probably grip related, none the next 150. Kind of cool getting almost a one ragged hole group at 21' from a pocket pistol.

A buddy of mine was with me, he decided he wanted to try the little 380 girly gun. He didn't say a whole lot about it other than it was pleasant to shoot. His carry gun is a kimber 1911 in 45acp. Well I just talked to him, he stoped on his way home yesterday and bought the little 380 girly gun. To funny!

They shoot straight, and they are pleasant to shoot. It's my 'all the time' these days.
BTW, if you like pocket carry, Alabama Holster makes a great kydex; no added bulk and smoothes the outline. You'll have to order, but they make left handed ones.

The G42 is in excellent pistol. It is compact, light and recoil is pretty much nonexistent.

I bought two when they first came out.

Had all the troubles the 42 has had.

I don't count rounds shot but it's been about a thousand.

Recently I bought a Crimson Trace Laser for the gun in hopes of (pocket) carrying it.

Then I started getting light primer strikes.
A 6 pound striker spring seems to have taken care of that but now I'm back to a excessively hard trigger pull.

Still don't trust it enough to carry.

It shoots OK when it is working but you never know when it's going to malfunction.
