Hey guys, I'm not 100% sure about this, but from my knowledge, this seems right. I've heard so many people say the Glock 39 (.45 GAP) has the same Specs as a Glock 26, 27, and 33. Well, if I'm not mistaken, all websites are just stating what Glock.com is generally stating about their models saying that all the slides have a width of 1.18 inches. Well, I also checked the websites for the width of the Glock 19... all stating that it has the same width, 1.18 inches. I also held a Glock 26 and 27 side to side with a Glock 19 and 23 all having the same slide width seen with my eyes at least. Well... if this is true, all the websites stating that the Glock 39 has a width of 1.18 inches are false. I have pictures to compare. (Keep in mind, the Glock 26 and 27 have the same slide width as the Glock 19 and 23):

It is clearly obvious that the G39 Slide is thicker in width compared to the G19 Slide (Substitute for the G26, 27, 33 Slide). I measured both, G19 measuring roughly at 1 inch, and the G39 measuring at roughly 1 1/8 inches. If this is a invalid state/study/input please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm just sick of people saying they are the same size because they only base this off of what they read on the internet. If this were true, my G39 would of fit into a Glock 26, 27, 33 Holster... instead it only fit into a G30 or 29 Holster (due to slide thickness). To me, its only common sense... a bigger calibar, a big slide...

    Please comment :wavey:!

If you measured the 19 and came up with 1 inch, and Glock says it 1.18 inches, I guess the thickest part of a 19 ain't the slide, where the thickest part of the 39 is.

The width stated in the specs is the widest part of the frame, not the slide. The G26/G27/G33/G39 frames are identical.

I wasn't measuring for exact measurements... I was only measuring for the difference between them to compare.

...because it is bigger and fatter ...

Anyone know the difference in slide width between the G27 and G33?

Well, this is to state the SLIDE is different because people mistake the slide for the width measurement on the website, so they think that the Glock 39 Specs are completely the same as the Glock 26, 27, 33. Thanks for the input man.

I just took pics of my G33. Slide is right at 1" and frame is right under 1-1/8". Tried my best to line up the ruler with the edge of the frame.

There is no difference. They're the same slide with different markings and a different barrel.

Thanks. Can the G27 also accept the G33 barrel and vice versa like with the G23 and G32?

And thanks for the thread! My plans to buy the G39 was also for carry purposes largely due to its size and caliber. I figured the the hole for the barrel was just bigger but the width was the same as mentioned subcompacts.

I might now get a G37/38 instead of the 39 for HD and a G27 or G33 for carry.

The GAP uses the large frame slide which is wider than the standard frame slide. Standard frame, calibers 9mm, 357sig and 40 has a slide width of 1.005". The large frame models, 45 and 10mm have a slide width of 1.125". All GAP GLOCKs have a slide width of 1.125".

    What is the question again?

But the slides are not. And that is what the post is about.
