I have a bud, fairly new to firearms, who just purchased a Glock 37 in .45 GAP...I know little about this cartridge, except that it's considered as a .45 ACP lite...He's broached the subject of be loading for him - can I use my .45 ACP dies in much the same way and .40 S&W/10mm and .38 Spl/.357 Mag are used for both cartridges??? I've passed the word for him to save all of his brass...He'll supply, if necessary, the hardware (dies) in addition to the components (powder & projos)

Yes, almost all 45acp dies will work for 45gap.

As said above, 45ACP dies will work. They take SMALL pistol primers too.

Certainly no ACP "lite" though. The pressures are higher. GAP runs with ACP +P.

I have reloaded 45 gap myself using RCBS 45ACP dies. You just have to adjust them for it.

Thanx for the link...this is for a bud who bought the G37 because he got a deal on it - his first gun as nears as I can see - I'll know more when I actually talk to him...he's back to doin' a daily show on Blog Talk Radio "Spirit of '76" - one of these days I'll prolly be doing a weekly spot on firearms (again) for him....I don't mind reloadin' for him - just need to do some more research om that caliber - I'm a .45 ACP kind of guy....have both a G21 and a G30 (along with a G35)...I've also been wonderin' about getting a 10mm bbl for my G21...I( have an EAA Witness in 10mm but only one 10 round mag...

GAP doesn't run with full power 45ACP+P, especially with heavier bullets.

The GAP is a great round. Haven't shot a g37 but have shot a G38, G30 and owned a G36. The 38 seemed to shoot a tad softer than both. More noticable over the 36 but it does have a heavier slide. A few folks here have said the 37 also shoots a tad softer than the 21.

The GAPs also use the same frames as the 17/22/31/19/23/32/26/27/33, which is more comfortable in my hands than the fatter frames of the ACP pistols.
