Picked up a new 36 halfway through last month, i will say some of the reports almost kept me from purchase. Especially since it has a test fire date of 08/2008.

Anyway all i did a few days ago was do a full strip and remove all the dried out glock lube, it was solid so i figured it couldn't be any different than firing dry. so out with the old in with new lube

anyway finally got to the range today. brought quite a few different rounds with me for "function check" as this is a new primary carry piece

25 speer LE gold dots 185
    50 blazer rounds 230
    50 speer lawman 230
    50 aguila 230
    25 speer gold 185s

not a single problem whatsoever feel pretty good about this one.

Good deal. A 36 has been my primary carry for several years. Leave it pretty much stock and it should work fine.

Yup i was going to convert my mags to pierce +1 and 10% stronger springs, i think after today i'll just buy another mag and carry 2 spare instead of 1....

Welcome...the G36 has become my main winter CCW. For another great buy, try the Glock Sport Combat holster.

I did just that. Spare mag with Pearce +1 and Wolff +10% spring. The one in the gun has a Pearce +0 base w/stock spring. Much nicer than the one Glock uses. Blends in nice and is more comfortable.

nice report! I have been looking at a G36 and shot one once briefly. I have been turned away by some of the negative reports on it. Keep us updated on it!

I have a G36 in my inventory of Glocks, I have never had a problem. Always reliable, fairly accurate and easy to conceal. althought with todays' Op Tempo out there I feel more comfortable with a High Capacity G-19, Thats until my G32 comes in. The thought of just having 7 rounds backed up by another 6 is not for me. Shoot Move shoot move.

The first 4 rounds determine the winner in a gun fight. It is also better if they come out of your pistol.

G36 mags without the +1 extension fit very nicely in a pocket.
The +0 extension doesn't really add any bulk to the mag and they still fit very nicely in a pocket.

My hands are so small that the G36 is a good fit for me with no extension at all, but I really like the Pearce +0 extension. Give it a try.

My personal reasons for the 36 were i needed the thinnest reliable ccw i could get. I really wanted the 30sf but that little extra width just wasn't for me. I'm 6' 160....

and for those that suggested holsters thanks but i all ready have a MTAC and love it. I also got a belt from them and i will say i'm not a big fan, it digs down into my hips a bit and feels pretty sharp. I'll deal with it and probably try to put on a bit of weight (barley falvered soda right) to ease the weight of the belt on my hips lol

It would be nice if that were true. Unfortunately...

You should take what you read on Glocktalk with a grain of salt - this site is about 90% or more beginning shooters and most of the opinions range from what they read in gun magazines (most of which are like the weekly world news with more profit motivation) and crap they just plain make up. To me, that's what makes it fun - I get bored quickly with just talking about real shooting stuff with knowledgeable people on other sites.

This is the only place I've heard anything bad about the 36 and you'll notice many people here (who are sure it isn't their fault) often can't make any model of Glock shoot.

I can not speak highly enough about my G36....

keep it stock, and you wont have any problems.
I tried pierce +1, and had some miss feeds, I hear Wolf + power springs will solve that, but I have not confirmed that yet.

Now go get some Win Ranger T's, or Federal HST's... to feed the lil beast.:wavey:
