I recently purchased a G36 and ordered some 185gr+P Hydra Shoks. Will my Glock 36 be able to handle these rounds. I normally carry a Sig 220 as primary and we use the non+P rounds for it. The Glock is my BUG/Off Duty piece. I plan on putting at least 200 rounds through it within a week or so. I have some ball ammo and old duty rounds but also want to put at least 20 rounds of the new stuff through it to see how it handles.

It will be alittle snappy, but it shouldn't hurt it. I shot some through my G36 this weekend.

It will bankrupt you before you break it.

No problems firing a good number of Remington 185 grain +P JHP loads through it.

Despite this, though, I've always preferred Remington's standard pressure 185 grain Golden Saber BJHP. For me, this was the most accurate load that I could fire out of this gun.

I run 230 gr +P in mine. Chronographing standard pressure rounds out of that short barrel was disappointing, so I decided to run the +Ps in mine to maintain the usual 850+fps that is typical for this throw weight from a standard length barrel.

Thanks for the replies everyone. My department mandates that we use Hydra Shoks. I know there are rounds out there that are just as good if not better to use for LE purposes but I have to follow policy.

I don't personally see the need for +P ammo in the 45 ACP but that's just my opinion. Curious why the OP thought the G36 wouldn't hand +P?
