Excuses I've come up with so far....

-I can now travel with 2 guns to classes and if one goes down all I need is another holster (mags interchange)

-When introducing a new shooter, I would have two of nearly the same gun so manual of arms is the same

-If **** hits the fan, I can arm someone in my family with mags that are interchangeable to my gun

-Better for weapon light mounting since the lens is behind the muzzle now

Cons:
-Stupid Slide Cut Out
-Wife Already Says I Spend too much on guns, and I want to diversify the collection first (probably need a Garand first, although I'd shoot the 34 more).
-Would have urge to sell my 17, which is my first handgun to finance nearly the same gun
-Cost

My first Glock was a 17. I looked at another guy's 35 andwanted one, only I don't really care for .40 Short & Weak so I bought a 34. Don't fight it, just do it and get on with life. BTW, if the SHTF, I'll hand my 17 over to my bride, or anyone else that wants to watch my 6 for that matter.

I recently bought a 34 and I like it a lot, but I may have to sell it much to my chagrin. :crying: I say get a 34. Nice shooting gun.

Here's an idea...17L!!! And you can also just buy the upper since it uses the 17 receiver.

34 > 17.

I had both at once point as well and simply sold the 17 to make room for a baby Glock.

Agreed. My opinion if the G34 and the G26 had been made before the G17 and G19, Glock could have skipped them and gone right to the .357s GAPs.

After having recently shot a few hundred rounds through a 17L from the latest batch, I can say that I so far still favor the 34. Granted the recoil and follow up sight picture is amazing in the 17L, but all around as of now, I would argue for the 34. Of course price is a step up from your current 17, but the 34s are great pistols straight out of the box. Of course you could also consider investing in another 17 and setting it up exactly as your first, therefore having a total backup via the "one is none, and two is one" school of thought.
