Anyone have any experience with the G30 Hybrid (G30sf frame with G36 slide)? (For those who don't know, yes it works and perfectly!) Anyone have any issues with it yet?

The district glock rep in my area carries that particular combination. Now, if I can only convince him that I need a 36 slide/barrel............

A couple of GTers did this...5-6 years ago. I tried it for functionality, and it works just fine.

I did this about a year ago and took some pics. I have since deleted that photobucket account. Someone on another site asked me to re-take and post them again. Will try to do it tonight.

So this would also work on a 29SF frame, I take it. hhhhmmmm, interesting.

We talked about this earlier this week. I've not had a chance to actually SHOOT it yet.

    Stay tuned.

Slimmer, lighter carry (part of the 36 attraction) with the capacity of a 30.

36 slide is slimmer than 30.

So, you end up with a slimmer 36/30 hybrid with 10 round capacity. It's the "best of both worlds" scenario.

I reckon' it's probably lighter too... (hmmm...harsher recoil then ?) I'm sure some others will chime in.

EDIT : (I see I got beat to the punch by Gabby)

The G30 shoots WAY nicer than the G36.
While ithe SLIDE would be slimmer, you save only .09".
The G30's frame is still thicker, so no width savings there.
    The Glock 30's weight is 33.86 ounces, the G36 is 26.99 ounces,....loaded.

Overall you may save 4 ounces?

I looked into doing this,......not worth it for me

I use my G36 slide on my standard (non SF) G29 frame. Shoots flawlessly and I hit the target as well with this setup as with my 26, 17, 21.

Waiting for the glock 30 with a 21 slide length and glock 36 slide width. (Wishing now in progress, please stand clear.)

The pros (comparing to G36 or G30sf separately) are that you have a slimmer (more concealable) slide than a G30sf and 10+1 instead of 6+1 capacity magazine with G36. And for those who are not as experienced in carrying concealed and wondering about the BIG difference in size, centimeters do make a difference in comfort and concealability when you consider all the aspects of doing so (for example: sitting, bending, etc.). Just in case you are wondering about holsters, you can use some G19/23 holsters. Also, another advantage is that you get a rail to add on a weapon light or laser. To me, the perfect combo as some have already posted. Jailer252, do you know if that district glock rep knows about anyone selling it?
