I have always liked the Glock 30SF for a number of reasons including being able to carry 10+1 (9+1 with short mag's) and use a Glock 21 13 rounder as backup but it's not always the most comfortable carrying gun. Very comforting to have that much accurate firepower but I find myself thinking that the Glock 36 might be more comfortable and, compared to a 5 shot J Frame Revolver, comforting as well.

I want to know if you, in your opinion, believe that a Glock 36 shoots as well as a Glock 30SF. Is it any more comfortable to carry over the 30SF?

I think that 6+1 with an additional 6 of .45 ACP is good but still 13 is less than 24.

What do you think?

Thank you in advance.

P.S. I shot a Glock 36 a few years ago but the grip felt really odd to me. After handling Glock 21SF's and 30SF's lately, the 36's grip now feels comfortable.

If you were in Afghanistan I would have the highest capacity sidearm that you can obtain- Glock 17. Many rounds for many bad guys.

Since we are presumably talking about CCW and not a battle zone, the G36 will do you well. Seven rounds of ammo on tap plus one or two spare mags in an ankle holster-you will do fine.

I have owned the G30 and loved it. Just did not like carrying it. What is the purpose of owning a higher capacity firearm if you are not going to carry it. The G36 is the perfect compromise. It is just as accurate as the G30.

Good thing about Glocks is that you can own many of them and not break the bank in doing so.

Let us know what you decide.

I've owned both the 36 and a 30sf, sold both. I prefer to have more rounds at my disposal. I know two LEOs who had shootings off duty using the 30. In both cases they fired until empty, neither officer was carrying a spare mag. In actual use rounds go fast. If you're going with .45 be prepared to carry spare mags. Not mag but mags.
